MEMBERS AREA: Poomsae Movies - Sa Jang
Poomsae taegeuk sa jang: (forth pattern). Loud, blaring and resounding, thunder is one of the first things in life we begin to fear. There is shattering power as lightning prefaces thunder, thought must preface movement in this poomse. Powerful double knife hand blocks at the beginning and sharp double punches at the end illustrate the formidable magnitude of thunder in this poomse. Thunder comes from the sky and is absorbed by the earth. Thunder is a powerful natural force and the object of fear.
This principle suggests that we should act bravely and calmly even in the face of danger and fear. Then the blue sky and bright sunshine will appear again. Taeguk sa jang represents this ideology and should be performed with this in mind. Sa jang is the taeguk poomse for blue tag (5th Kup).
