Poomsae taegeuk pal jang: (eighth pattern).  The associated trigram of this poomse is yin, the end of the beginning, the evil part of all that is good.  Even in darkness there is still some light.  When performing this taeguk one should be aware this is the last Kup poomse.  It is the end of a cycle.  Gon symbolises the earth.  The earth is the source of all life.  Things take life from it and grow from it, drawing limitless energy.
The earth is where the creative force of heaven is embodied.  It hugs and grows everything.  Taeguk pal jang is the last training for Kup grades and a stepping stone to the way of the Dan grade.  Pal jang is the taeguk poomse for black tag (1st Kup).
