GRADINGS:
Gradings are held every three months with each grade getting more complicated, demanding and fun.  The gradings are conducted by the grading examiner and the club instructor.

To gain passes in these exams students must demonstrate a wide variety of techniques and are thus becoming more proficient in the art.  A grading usually encompasses blocking, breaking techniques, defence against weapons, kicking, poomse, self defence, sparring (against one and two opponents) and stances.  A written exam may also be required and also terminology, which ensures our organisation is always at the highest level.  Our strict and demanding grading syllabus is there to ensure you are taught the best techniques and learn control and discipline that comes from this powerful and spectacular martial art.

Syllabus  (Members download and print syllabus in the members area.)
Gradings are organised into a syllabus, which gives guidance on the curriculum for each grade of progression.  Each grade of progression through the art is denoted by a coloured belt, which signifies the student’s grade.

The syllabus is designed to produce a well-rounded taekwondo player who is equally capable of all aspects of modern W.T.F. Taekwondo to a high standard.  Outlined below are the minimum exercises and patterns for each test.  The grading officer may ask you to do other exercises or test your theoretical knowledge.  A student who successfully completes this course is worthy of taking the Dan grade exam.
